About Deirdre Murphy.
Deirdre (Dee) Murphy is an inspirational executive leader with a passion for the safety of patients and healthcare teams. Her early days as an RN helped shape her perspective that things can and needed to be better, not only for patients, but also healthcare workers. Despite well-intended efforts, standard operating procedures were not always clearly defined or followed. These resulted in flawed systems and processes, and emotional pain when adverse events occurred. Seeking to find a better way to care for both patients and workers, Deirdre broadened her skills and expertise within patient safety and business administration.
With over 30 years of clinical and administrative experience, she has proven success with designing and implementing high reliability strategies to improve operational efficiency and financial performance within integrated health systems. She brings a visionary perspective to each challenge while seeking to help organizations and their employees gain confidence and expertise in preventing unintended mistakes. Her solutions create lasting change, improve culture, and alleviate stress for healthcare workers, patients and their families.
Deirdre has an MBA and Bachelors in Business Administration from Thomas More University and Associate of Science/Registered Nursing degree from Northern Kentucky University. She is also a certified professional in patient safety. Deirdre and her husband live in Northern Kentucky. She’s an avid soccer fan, enjoys gardening and spending time with her three children and two dogs.
